Hello everybody! Happy Tuesday and I hope you've had a good week so far! I took this picture and posted it on my Instagram @aimeeamber if you're wondering.
So yesterday a girl in my class asked how I looked so pretty all the time (how I got my hair, my skin etc)? My immediate reaction was to be like "WHATTTT" and laugh in her face. The girl that asked me is stunning so my jaw almost dropped open. I was very flattered and then two others looked round to hear what I had to say. So I thought I'd make a longer version of what I told them! My opinion of beauty is very natural looking, therefore I think people that use what they have naturally and make it work , instead of throwing on the make up so they look different, inspire me. So I thought I'd share with you a few things I've learnt in my short life about teenage skin and the general beauty area! Here goes my 8 things I do to keep my skin and hair healthy!;
- 1 water is your best friend! I'm terrible at constantly drinking and you're meant to have at least 8 cups of water a day. Therefore take water wherever you go and if you have the common girl problem of not wanting to go to the school toilets then face it for clear skin!
- 2 always take your make up off! No matter how tired you are and were all guilty of this but always take it off to sleep. It gives your skin time to breathe.
- 3 use spot treatment. I'm lucky (kind of) I don't really get spots on my face which is lucky but I do get a few on my back (lucky about my face, not about my back). Find one that suits your skin and use that as often as possible.
- 4 decide when's the right time to wear a lot of make up. At school I only wear Rimmel London lasting finish foundation in 100, no7 lash extension mascara and Rimmel scandeyes mascara in 001 black, topshop eyebrow liner and strawberry carmex. Which isn't really a lot because I find that school is a place where you should feel comfortable (so don't care what others think!). Choose the right time to wear a lot like out of school if you're going out for drinks, shopping or to dinner.
- 5 if my skin breaks out in a couple of spots or it feels tight, I always have a make up free day. Even if it's at school. It really angers me that girls would never dare to go without make up at school. It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks about you but yourself, you do what ever you want to as long as your happy with it.
- 6 when I get home I tie my hair up so it's not on my face to prevent oily skin
- 7 do not over use hair straighteners or curling tongs. My hair is unbelievably soft and people ask me if they can touch it sometimes because of it's softness. Therefore I'm petrified of ruining that. The bottom of my hair is dip dyed blonde and that's the only drastic thing I've ever done to it. I hate hair that feels like straw it cringes me. I don't straighten my hair on the reason that It's dead straight anyway. When I do or if I curl my hair I use heat protection and on the lowest temperature possible. I also use either; head and shoulders shampoo, treseme professional or VO5. I repeat - do not ruin your hair!
- 8 scars are the Bain of my life. Therefore I have bio oil and I rub that on them as often as I remember to!
